This important initiative provides CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and defibrillator training, giving students the confidence and practical skills to save lives in a cardiac emergency.

The programme teaches pupils how to recognise the signs of cardiac arrest, perform effective chest compressions, and use a defibrillator safely — vital steps that can help increase survival rates before emergency services arrive.

Funded by NHS Charities Together through the London Ambulance Charity, the programme aims to create a generation of young Londoners who are ready and able to take action in life-threatening situations.

Through this training, our students have not only gained valuable knowledge but also contributed to building a safer and more caring community.

The process was very thorough and of course took the views of parents/carers, staff, governors and pupils into consideration alongside observing teaching, social times and all aspects of our day to day practice.

What is the Digital Safety Ambassadors & Digital Citizens Programme?

The Muslim Digital Safety Ambassadors initiative is an interactive mentoring, technical and peer-led, classroom-based training programme that gives young Muslims the confidence to challenge hate, react positively and build resilience amongst peer groups. The training and support are provided online through a secure portal and in the classroom through face-to-face training.

This project is being supported by Google and the London Mayor’s Office and will conclude with a presentation ceremony in London to highlight and celebrate the work of our pupils in creating a productive, yet safe, online environment that future generations can benefit from.

The Muslim Digital Safety Ambassadors programme fits into the wider Health and Wellbeing part of the school curriculum, as it focuses on online safety, mental health, and safety of children. The programme focuses on empowering and encouraging peer to peer support which we have found to be the most impactful way of making a positive difference.

Message from the Headteacher

I am thrilled to have the opportunity of leading the Lantern of Knowledge School and very much looking forward to my new role to ensure that the school continues to move from strength to strength.

As a family man, I fully understand the importance of schooling and recognise the vital nature of children attending a supportive, high quality school that allows every young person to reach their potential. We all want the best for our children and I have always believed that this is best achieved when schools work in unison with parents and carers.

It is my aim to build on the secure foundations and current achievements ensuring that our school is forward thinking and ambitious within a supportive and safe environment. I fully appreciate how important each year of a child’s school life is towards preparing them for life. I have high expectations, not only for myself but for all members of our school community. I hope you will support our high expectations in all areas, especially in attendance and behaviour which naturally impacts greatly on achievement.

I will strive to ensure that our school supports pupils to be whole rounded individuals. I strongly believe that school is the opportunity for children to discover and unlock hidden talents in an enjoyable and nurturing environment.
