Visit to the Royal Courts of Justice, 26 & 27 February 2013

lantern of Knowledge pupils visited the Royal Courts of Justice, off the Shard, near Holborn. The purpose of the visit, was to initially go for a tour of the Historical building, whilst the day to day proceedings of the court were being carried out, for instance, court cases etc with real judges, barristers and so on, time and again crossing paths with the boys. This enabled the boys to learn first-hand about the law proceedings in the UK, vital for their Citizenship GCSE studies.

In the afternoon session, the boys partook in a debate and role play within an actual courtroom. This was a once in a lifetime experience for the boys, who were able to, under the instruction of court employees, get a real feel of the emotions within a courtroom.
